The heart of stewardship is taking care of what you value—and for us, that’s Wyoming’s youth. We’re invested in helping them grow to become informed leaders, critical thinkers, and engaged problem solvers.
The Wyoming Stewardship Project is our gift to Wyoming educators and students; our way of saying, “We value you, and we value the important contributions you make to our state.”
Developed by a collaborative team involving industry leaders and the Wyoming Department of Education, and written by Wyoming educators, our curriculum of elementary education lessons for grades 2-5 is designed to meet educational standards and cultivate a new generation of stewards for our state.
By participating in the program, students will gain a thorough understanding of Wyoming’s three main economic drivers (Agriculture, Minerals & Energy, and Outdoor Recreation & Tourism), how these drivers relate to our natural resources, and how they can best steward those very resources for years to come.
Exploring the “what, where, and why” of Wyoming agriculture, students learn about Wyoming farms and Wyoming’s livestock industry; discuss the different ways farmers and ranchers practice stewardship; and are challenged to think about Wyoming agriculture through scientific, cultural, and economic lenses.
