Installing NORD Layers (VPN)

Computer Instructions

1. Click Here to automatically download the NORD Layer APP
2. Navigate to Downloads folder and double-click the NORD Layer file to install
3. Follow all prompts to install and Open NORD Layer app
4. Enter login credentials
5. Choose United States to activate protection
6. Click Settings and make sure “ThreatBlock” is checked.
7. It will prompt to reconnect. Click ok.
8. You are now secure. NORD Layer will run in the background and will startup automatically.

Mobile Device Instructions

1. Download the NORD Layer APP in your mobile device’s app store
2. Open NORD Layer app
3. Enter login credentials
4. Choose United States to activate protection
5. Click Settings and make sure “ThreatBlock” is checked.
6. It will prompt to reconnect. Click ok.

Optimizing Windows Defender

Computer Instructions

1. Navigate to Start > Search and enter “defender”. Windows Defender icon will show up in results. Click Windows Defender.
2. Make sure there is a green check next to Virus & threat protection.
3. Make sure there is a green check next to Account protection.
4. Make sure there is a green check next to Firewall & network protection.
5. Make sure there is a green check next to App & browser control.
6. Make sure there is a green check next to Device security.
7. If any check is yellow or red. Click it and follow the steps to make it green.
