2019-2020 Mapping Project for Classrooms
We are grateful for those who have provided us feedback on the GIS mapping program over the past few weeks. We want you to know, we’re listening!
In response to this feedback, we’d like to announce some revisions to the 2020 Mapping Program and contest. It is our hope as we continue to pilot this technology in the classroom that it is not a time or resource burden for teachers but encouraging and empowering for students.
- Less time needed to complete project.
- Mapping projects no longer require a written project report. Simply complete a mapping activity using MapItFast then take a video of your students as they give an oral project report/presentation.
- Videos should be no more than 5 minutes long and presented by multiple students.
- Projects can now be submitted by mixed-age groups, after-school programs, and traditional classrooms. If you have a home-school or after-school group would like to participate please contact us for more details or project ideas.
Projects will be due by 5:30 pm on Friday, May 8th.
The winning project will be recognized as appropriate within their local school or community.
