Endowment

Wyoming Agriculture in the Classroom is fortunate to have an established endowment. This endowment was set up for the purpose, which still remains, to increase financial independence for Wyoming Agriculture in the Classroom and provide for its programs well into the future.

As history is told, in 2005, Encana presented an opportunity to Wyoming Agriculture in the Classroom by providing $750,000 for an endowment if Ag in the Classroom could match the funds. The chairman of the Board at that time, Dennis Sun, led the effort with the help of the Board of Directors and the endowment goal of $1.5 million was reached in 2008. Wyoming Agriculture in the Classroom is grateful for Encana’s gift and all the Wyoming support.

Currently, the endowment dollars generate income, a portion of which is available year after year, while the principal continues to build the fund for the future.

Many donors have made unrestricted gifts to the Endowment fund. In such cases, the net assets released are used for operating expenses or selected priorities that the Board chooses. In the future, a donor may even prefer to designate their gifts for a named fund or a program sponsorship.

Your support to the Endowment would be a way to make an investment over a number of years, an investment in the future of our state, our Wyoming students!
